Divine Perspective Coaching (Life, Business, Relationships)

Life not quite what you dreamed of?

If you are here visiting me, welcome! I also suspect that you, like me are feeling stuck in a life you never thought you’d be living. The life you dreamed of was filled with purpose, creativity, and excitement. Yet – here you are in the day to day, not really understanding where, why or how you deviated from your original path. Were your dreams a fantasy or were you really created for a purpose?

Maybe you’re here because you never had a path to begin with, but you KNOW that there is more to life than what you are currently living and you have the courage and determination to find it. You just need a little help.

At the age of 35, I woke up one morning and realized that I was a little of both. The relationship side of my life was a complete train wreck, nothing like I had imagined; My professional life was safe, predictable…uninspiring. I was bored and couldn’t imagine living this life until retirement. Something had to change.

If this resonates with you, you are not alone and there is a way. I found it and now I am here to help you do the same. It’s a lot simpler (but not easier!) than you may think.

Let’s get to know one another and discover what you are made for!

Sometimes the largest mountain standing between you and your future, is you!

“The tongue has the power of life and death…”
~ Proverbs 18:21

Have you ever stopped to consider the fact that your thoughts are words, and because of that, they have the power to bring life or death? They have the power to create and dream, to establish goals and to build a future that leads to a full and satisfying life. Your thoughts or your beliefs about yourself, other people, the world around you, and even God himself, will dictate the trajectory and ultimate success of your future. No wonder the Apostle Paul tells us to take captive our thoughts – they matter far more than many people understand.

How you think and the meaning you place on events/experiences can either propel you toward your goal or become a mountain standing between you and your dream. But did you know that as a child of God, you have the power to tell that mountain to “move!”? It’s true!

What might a mountain look like when it comes to goal obtainment and life purpose? It can take on many outward forms, here a few:

  • Not going for the promotion that you know you deserve and are more than qualified for
  • Not taking the risk of dating even though you really desire to be married and have a family
  • Spending years talking about the business or ministry you are going to start, but never taking the first step
  • Not having any future dreams at all – you aren’t unhappy with your life, in fact, your actually pretty content, but there is still a deeper feeling that there is “something” missing. You might hear the message: “you were made for more,” and you agree – you just aren’t too sure what the more is for you.
  • You are successful and on track to achieving your goals, but lately you feel you have areas that must be improved or strengthened, or even learned, before advancing to the next level.

The Coaching Process

When you step into the Coaching process, you will often discover that your own thoughts and beliefs are almost always the true mountain that must be overcome. To make the mountain move, you must identify and dismantle what is ultimately a lie. Psychology refers to these thoughts and beliefs as “maladaptive thought patterns”: patterns of thoughts and beliefs that restrict, limit or cause you discomfort, unease or even harm. See if any of these sound familiar to you…

  • I am not smart enough to start that business
  • I’m not qualified to lead a ministry
  • No one is ever going to love me or think I’m beautiful, why even try.
  • It was stupid to try that – never again!
  • I’ll never be hurt again
  • If I fail, I’m a failure (or worthless)

Almost every client who seeks out Coaching has a mountain to conquer. It may be a small mountain, it may be an entire mountain range…but never the less, as you journey through life and pursue your dreams, mountains are inevitable. You can and will move them, climb over them, or walk around them, but sometimes a coach is needed to encourage, motivate or help you get unstuck.

As your Coach, I will guide and encourage you as you establish tangible and practical goals and learn new tools and scriptural insights to help you identify your dreams and conquer those mountains. I will challenge you to stretch outside of your comfort zone and to resurrect parts of your soul and spirit you thought were long dead or didn’t know existed.

It’s amazing how much easier it has been to meet new people and create instant connections. I have the exact same personality, the only thing that has changed is my mindset and a few behaviors.

Susan Brown

Colleen has been such a great mentor/life coach. I was lucky enough to find her through my church and have referred multiple friends to her. All my friends that have seen her think she is amazing! She has helped me to see blind spots in my life. One example is that I was continually attracted to the wrong type of guy. I could not actually see the good ones that were right in front of me. So with her help and praying continuously about it, I was able to make changes and recently married a wonderful man. Colleen speaks the truth with love. She has also helped me to change “the dance” that I do in my family relationships. She helped me realize that once I change my ways (the dance) I will see changes in my family dynamics. She may tell you things you don’t want to hear but she is only trying to help you and I can promise you that you will thank her later for doing it.  If you feel stuck, want to make break throughs in your life, or just need someone to walk alongside you during a difficult season, I highly recommend seeing her"

"I cannot brag enough about Colleen and how her gifts of wisdom and encouragement have positively impacted my life. I’ve Known her for about 5 years now and I can honestly say I am a better wife, mother, and friend when I come to her and implement the practical tools she gives me to get through the “day to day” that is my life . If your looking for biblical truth, honest advice/opinions, accountability, strength, wisdom and encouragement, then she is the life coach for you! Up or down, rain or shine, she is in it with you. I know her as a mentor but love her as a dear friend. And I know you will too! "

According to Matthew’s account, when Jesus first met Peter (then Simon) and his brother Andrew, he simply said: “Come, follow me and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Matthew 4:19) Peter and Andrew were fisherman and this invitation to “fish” for men would be one that would speak to them personally. The Challenge: Take a deep breath, close your eyes and ask
